From January to April 2022, due to adverse factors such as repeated epidemics and rising structural costs, the downward pressure on China's industrial textile industry will increase, and the industry's industrial added value will continue to maintain positive growth, but the growth rate has narrowed. In terms of economic benefits, from January to April, the operating income and total profit of enterprises above designated size in the industry fell by 2.4% and 23.7% year-on-year, respectively, and the profit margin was 4.9%, down 1.4 percentage points year-on-year.

From January to April 2022, the export value of China's industrial textile industry (statistical data of customs 8-digit HS code) was 15.18 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 16.8%; the import value of the industry from January to April (statistical data of customs 8-digit HS code) was 2.11 billion US dollars, a year-on-year decrease of 15.8%. In terms of products, felt cloth/tent surpassed masks and became the largest export product in the industry; the export value of traditional products such as industrial coated fabrics, cord (cable) belt textiles, and canvas increased by 22.9%, 19.3%, and 36.8% year-on-year respectively. %. The export of non-woven fabrics and related products showed different trends. The export value of masks and chemical fiber non-woven fabric protective clothing (including medical protective clothing) decreased by 66.2% and 70.0% year-on-year respectively.

Regarding the operation of the industry in 2022, most companies are cautiously optimistic, judging from the association's research. At present, the industrial textile industry is facing a complex and severe development environment, and the production and operation of enterprises are also under great pressure, but the short-term disturbance of the epidemic will not change the fundamentals of the sustainable development of the industry. As the national package of economic policies gradually takes effect, it is of great significance to promote infrastructure construction, bulk consumption, the stability of industrial and supply chains, and private investment. The potential of domestic demand will continue to be released, and industry operations are expected to recover steadily.
